Yf-Vax
Yellow Fever Vaccine Live/Pf
What is Yf-Vax used for?
This vaccine is used to help prevent yellow fever. Yellow fever is an infection that is spread by mosquitos. This vaccine contains live viruses that have been weakened. It works by increasing the body's natural defense (immunity) against the virus. This vaccine is recommended for people who live in or are traveling to areas where the infection is common (such as Africa, Central/South America) and those who work with the virus in a lab. Vaccines may not fully protect everyone who receives them. This vaccine is not approved for use by children younger than 9 months due to an increased risk of side effects (such as seizures).
