What is Qfitlia Pen used for?
This medication is used by people with a certain inherited bleeding problem (hemophilia A or B) to help prevent or lessen how often they have bleeding problems. This medication works by lowering the levels of a natural protein (antithrombin). This helps produce more clotting protein (thrombin) which helps prevent bleeding.

This medication has caused serious problems from blood clots (such as heart attack, stroke, blood clots in the lungs or legs). You may be at increased risk for blood clots if your antithrombin level becomes too low, if you are using other clotting factors or bypassing agents with this medication, you have a history of blood clots, or if you are immobile (such as on very long plane flights or being bedridden). If you use estrogen-containing products, these may also increase your risk. Before using this medication, if you have any of these conditions report them to your doctor or pharmacist. To reduce your risk, your doctor will order blood clotting tests before you start using this medication and while you are using it. Get medical help right away if any of these side effects occur: shortness of breath/rapid breathing, chest/jaw/left arm pain, unusual sweating, sudden dizziness/fainting, pain/swelling/warmth in the groin/calf, sudden/severe headaches, sudden vision changes, weakness on one side of the body, trouble speaking, or confusion.
Fitusiran may also cause serious problems with your gall bladder. Tell your doctor right away if you have symptoms of stomach/abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting.
