Nexlizet

Bempedoic Acid/Ezetimibe

What is Nexlizet used for?

This combination medication is used along with a proper diet and other medications to help lower "bad" cholesterol (such as LDL) in the blood. Bempedoic acid works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver. Ezetimibe works by reducing the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from your diet. Bempedoic acid, one of the drugs in this product, is also used by people who have a high risk for serious heart and blood vessel problems to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, death from heart disease, and needing certain types of heart surgery. In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. Consult your doctor for more details.
