What is Mulpleta used for?

This medication is used by people with chronic liver disease and a certain blood disorder (low platelet count) who are scheduled to have a medical or dental procedure. Having a low platelet count increases the risk of too much bleeding during certain procedures. This medication increases the production of platelets by your body to help prevent too much bleeding from the procedure.

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily for 7 days in a row. Your doctor will tell you how much to take and when to start taking it (usually 8 to 14 days before your procedure). Carefully follow your doctor's directions. Your doctor will check your platelet count before you start taking this medication and before your procedure.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
