Noxafil generic name: Posaconazole
What is Noxafil used for?
Posaconazole is used to prevent certain fungal infections in children who have severely weakened immune systems (such as patients who have had chemotherapy). It belongs to a class of drugs known as azole antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungi. This form of posaconazole is not recommended for use by children who weigh more than 88 pounds (40 kilograms) since this dosage form will not provide the right dose.
